The goal of the Guest Merge is to retain the most relevant guest data from the profiles that are being merged.  Now that Credit Cards are associated to reservations, this allows the system to retain multiple Credit Cards. In the example below, there are two Angela Robertson Guest Profiles, with two separate Credit Cards:
