Currently in the system, when merging profiles, only the settings and extra info of the master guest is retained. In this release, rules for merging have been put in place so that data can be retained from each Profile
Extra Info
In the example below, there are two separate profiles with different Extra Info settings:
Once the profiles are merged, the following rules are applies:
- If any field has no value, it is ignored in the merge
- If there are two or more valuse entered in, the system will take the value from the most recently created guest profile (the assumption being that this is the most recent information the guest has given)
The result in this example, the Toyota Vehicle information is retained being that it is the most recent profile => the Air# is retained from the first profile => the loyalt information is retained from the second profile:
VIP, Do Not Rent, and Email Opt in/Out
Merge Rules:
- VIP - If any of the profiles being merged are marked as VIP, the resulting merged profile will be VIP
- Email Opt In/Out - If any of the profiles being merged are marked as Opt Out, the resulting merged profile will be set to Opt Out
- Do No Rent - If any of the profiles being merged are marked as Do Not Rent, the resulting merged profile will be set to Do Not Rent
- Do Not Rent Notes - all Do Not Rent notes will be saved from each profile being merged

Guest Notes
In the example below, there are two profiles under George MacDonald and the Front Desk has confirmed it is the same guest. Each profile has a different Guest Note but both are important for the property to retain:
After the merge is complete, there will be one profile with both Guest Notes attached => the notes will be in order of date entered, with most recent note at the top:
Custom Fields
In the example below, there are two separate Profiles with different Custom Field Values:
After the two profiles are merged into one profile:
- Company - Weyerhauser is saved because it is the most recent value entered
- Birthdate - the "Master Guest" has a blank field, which is ignored, thus the most recent entered value is saved
- Favourite Colour - Blue is saved as the most recent, the blank is ignored on the second profile
