Reservations - Do Not Move Room - Snapshot

NOTE:  ALL computers must to be updated to Version 11.0.0.57.  If any workstation is running an older version, users on that device will be able to move a Do Not Move Room and it will not be properly tracked in the Activity Log.  If you plan on using this feature please ensure ALL computers are updated to a minimum version of 11.0.0.57

The “Do Not Move Room” checkbox is found on the Reservation screen below Room Number/Enable Assignment. Once a room is assigned, selecting this option locks the room so it cannot be changed. The setting can only be added or removed from the Reservation screen or the Group Rooming List.

It is strongly recommended to document the reason for enabling the Do Not Move flag in the Reservation Notes.

Doing so ensures all staff members understand why the restriction was applied and helps maintain consistency, clarity, and accountability throughout the guest’s stay.

To change a room with a Do Not Move Room flag, open the reservation using Change Res, uncheck Book, then uncheck Do Not Move Room. Confirm the prompt: selecting Yes unlocks the room number so it can be changed and logs the update in the Activity Log; selecting No restores the lock and prevents any room change.

Once OK is selected to save the reservation, the Activity Log is updated to show “Do Not Move = YES”, indicating that the Do Not Move Room checkbox was checked. If the checkbox was not selected, the Activity Log will display “Do Not Move = NO.”

Reservations flagged as Do Not Move are now identifiable throughout the PMS.
