This article demonstrates the two methods you can use to change rate prices using the Rate Wizard.
These methods are used to change the prices of all room types at the same time. If you want to change the price of a few room types, but not all, checkout this article: How to Change the Price of One Room Type.
Table of Contents
OPTION 1: Change the Base Rate
This method requires room types to be priced based on increments in the Rate Template (aka Rate Grid). Click Here to Setup or Change the Rate Template.
You can use this method to change the base rate row (single, double, triple quad fields), and these changes will automatically flow down to each room type so you don't have to manually enter each amount.
In the Rate Wizard
- Select the Rate Plan
- Select the Next button
- In the General tab of the Rate Name window, enter the base rate into the Single, Double, Triple, and Quad fields of the Base Rate Row; the rate prices will appear in the Rate Template below the Base Rate Row
- Enter the applicable date range into the Date From and Date To fields
- Enable the Update Rate Amounts checkbox
- Select the Save button
Repeat steps 3-6 above for each additional date range
OPTION 2: Change Each Rate in the Grid
This method does not require room types to be priced based on increments; you can use this method to manually enter the actual price of each room type, per occupancy (single, double, triple, quad).
In the Rate Wizard
- Select the Rate Plan
- Select the Next button
- In the General tab of the Rate Name window, click the Lock the Grid checkbox
- Enter the new price per occupancy, for each room type
- Enter the applicable date range into the Date From and Date To fields
- Enable the Update Rate Amounts checkbox
- Select the Save button
Repeat steps 3-7 above for each additional date range
Do not click the Update Rate Template button. The only time this button is used is when you want to Change the Rate Template, and changes cannot be reversed.
