This article will demonstrate how to setup or change the Rate Template (aka the Grid) for a rate plan in the Rate Wizard.
The Rate Template is required when you use the Base Rate Row to quickly update the price of all room types at once. This method of changing rate prices is based on established price increments that you add to the Rate Template (see an example below).
Price Increments are the increase in room price based on room type and occupancy.
Here is an example of Price Increments:
- SQQ is the least-expensive room type
- SK is $10 more than SQQ
- DQQ is $25 more than SQQ
- DK is $35 more than SQQ
- EKS is $235 more than SQQ
- All room prices are based on double-occupancy and there is a extra $10 charge for each additional person in the room
- There is no charge for children occupying the room
In the Rate Wizard
- Select the Rate Plan
- Select the Next button
- In the General tab of the Rate Name window, click the Lock the Grid checkbox
- Enter price increments into the cells in the Rate Template
- Select the Update Rate Template button
